33-Year-Old Man Injured in Car Crash on US 183 in Lampasas County

33-Year-Old Man Injured in Lampasas County Two-Vehicle Crash on US Highway 183

Lampasas County, Texas – A 33-year-old man was injured early Wednesday morning in a two-vehicle crash in Lampasas County near Lampasas, according to the Texas DPS.

The crash happened around 4:00 a.m., January 31, on US Highway 183 near Mile Marker 442.

DPS said a 28-year-old man from Pasadena was driving a 2020 Ford Transit van southbound on the highway. A disabled tractor truck was broken down on the shoulder, with reflective markers placed behind it when was rear-ended by the van. The driver was momentarily distracted and looked down just before the accident and tried to avoid a collision, with no luck.

The van driver was uninjured in the crash. The passenger, a 33-year-old man, was airlifted to Seton Hospital in Round Rock with incapacitating injuries.

The crash remains under investigation.
