Van Vleck, TX – Two young women were killed following a two-vehicle traffic collision in Van Vleck early Monday, according g to a local news source.
The deadly accident happened on State Highway 35 at Sixth Street.
Authorities say a BMW struck a vehicle in the address mentioned above and two passengers in the BMW died. Authorities said after the BMW collided with the car, it crashed into a power pole and caught fire.
The victims are Haleigh Matchett, 17, and Kylie Folmar, 19. Matchett is a Van Vleck District School student while Folmar recently graduated from the same school.
The driver of the car left the scene and was later located at a hospital in Lake Jackson.
No additional details regarding the accident were provided.
The accident remains under investigation.
