The crash took place at approximately 8:40 a.m. on Thursday, September 12 on Highway 70 near mile marker 288.

Hale County, TX — A 76-year-old woman, identified as Kathleen Ruth Dossey of Olton, was killed after her vehicle collided with a truck tractor on U.S. Highway 70 near the Hale and Lamb County line, according to Texas DPS.
The accident took place at approximately 8:40 a.m. on Thursday, September 12 on Highway 70 near mile marker 288.
Kathleen Dossey Dies After Two Vehicles Collide on US Highway 70 in Hale County
According to the DPS, Kathleen Dossey was driving a 2016 Mazda CX-5 westbound on TX-70 when she drove into the eastbound lanes and collided with a 2022 International truck tractor towing a semi-trailer, operated by Darko Festin, 66, of Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
DPS said Festin tried to avoid the collision but was unable to and collided with the Mazda. He was treated and released at the scene.
Dossey sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. DPS said Dossey was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the accident.
The accident remains under investigation.
