Van Zandt County, TX – Two people who died in a two-vehicle traffic collision on Highway 19 in Edgwood have been identified.
The DPS identified the victims as 63-year-old Karen Carlisle of Wills Point and 24-year-old Sara Stoehr of Larue.
According to the DPS, Carlisle was driving a 2014 Ford Focus northbound on Highway 19. For some reason, the Ford crossed to the opposite lane and collided with a southbound 2019 Dodge Journey operated by Stoehr.
Carlisle and Stoehr were pronounced dead at the scene.
Three minors in Stoehr’s car were injured and were transported to a children’s hospital in Dallas.

Van Zandt County, TX – Two people were killed and three children were injured after two vehicles collided on Highway 19 in Van Zandt County on Saturday.
Texas DPS said the deadly accident occurred at about 7:54 p.m. on September 28, on Highway 19, south of US 80.
As per the DPS, a preliminary investigation showed that a 2014 Ford Focus was traveling northbound on Highway 19 when it turned into the southbound lane, hitting a 2019 Dodge Journey.
Both drivers were pronounced dead.
Three children in the Dodge Journey were injured. Three minors were transported to a children’s hospital in Dallas.
The incident remains under investigation.
