Nelson Friesenhahn, 18, of Lubbock was also injured in the October 5 two-vehicle accident

Lynn County, TX – A w39-year-old Big Spring woman was killed and one other person was injured following a collision at an intersection in Lynn County Saturday afternoon, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety.
The deadly accident occurred at about 2:20 p.m. on October 5, 2024.
According to DPS, Erin Nichole Osborn, 39, of Big Spring, was driving a 2015 Nissan Versa northbound on FM 212 when she failed to yield at a stop sign and struck a 2022 Dodge Ram 1500 pickup truck heading southeast on US Highway 84.
Osborn was pronounced dead at the scene, DPS said, adding that she was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the accident.
The driver of the Dodge Ram, Nelson Wayne Friesenhahn, 18, of Lubbock was injured in the incident. DPS said Friesenhahn was transported to Covenant Medical Center in Lubbock. Friesenhahn was also not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the collision.
The incident remains under investigation.
