Timpson, TX – The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) has identified the person killed an a two-vehicle accident on US Highway 59 near Timpson on Wednesday as 26-yar-old Kristen Lee of Timpson. Another driver, idetified as Iso Isoev , 31, of New York, was hosopitalized with non-life-threatening injuries.
The collision happened at around 2:42 pm on Wednesday, December 4, 2024, in in the 1100 block of U.S. Highway 59 South.
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, an initial investigation revealed that a silver Dodge Ram 1500 pickup truck, operated by Kristen Lee, was traveling northbound, while a white Freightliner box truck, operated by Iso Isoev, was heading south on Highway 59.
Austhorities said there was heavy rain in the area and the Ram hydroplaned and traveled into the oncoming traffuc lane where it collided with the Freightliner.
One driver was trapped in the wreckage and was extricated by the Timpson Volunteer Fire Department personnel.
DPS troopers say the Lee was pronounced dead at the scene by Tracy Broadway, Justice of the Peace for Precinct 5.
Isoev sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to Nacogdoches Medical Center
