Driver killed, children injured in collision at Everhart Road and Cedar Pass Drive in Corpus Christi

Corpus Christi, TX – The Nueces County Medical Examiner’s Office has identified a driver who was killed in a multi-vehicle collision at a Corpus Christi intersection on Wednesday afternoon as 40-year-old Javier Mireles.
According to the Medical Examiner’s Office, Mireles was pronounced deceased at the scene after multiple vehicles collided at Everhart Road and Cedar Pass Drive on February 12, 2025, at 3:31 p.m.

According to investigators, the driver of a green SUV was traveling northbound in the southbound lanes in the 7200 block of Everhart Road when it collided with a black pickup traveling southbound in the right lane.
The Green SUV then collided with a southbound blue SUV and both SUVs struck a maroon SUV also heading south.
Seven children – three from the green SUV and four from the blue SUV – were hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries.
The driver of the maroon SUV was also hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries. No other injuries were reported.
An investigation is underway.

Corpus Christi, TX – One person was killed in a multi-vehicle collision on Wednesday night in Corpus Christi.
According to the Corpus Christi Police Department, the accident happened at the intersection of Everhart Road and Cedar Pass Drive.
Four vehicles including a vehicle traveling the wrong way were involved in the collision.
Two of the vehicles involved were carrying a total of seven children.
The wrong-way driver was killed in the accident.
The children were taken to hospital with unknown injuries.
Two other drivers were transported to the hospital with unknown injuries.
More details about the accident were not released.
An investigation into the accident is underway.
