One person killed in fiery car accident on East US 82 near Grand Avenue in Gainesville

Gainesville, TX. – One person was killed in a fiery car crash on Friday evening in Gainesville.
According to Gainesville Police Department, the accident happened around 7 p.m. near the 2500 block of East US 82 near Grand Avenue.
A black Acura collided with a Chevy Equinox in unclear circumstances. The driver of the Acura then left the accident scene, ran a red light at the intersection of US 82 and Lawrence Street, and collided with a Ford F-150.
The pickup truck burst into flames after the collision.
The driver of the F-150 succumbed to his injuries at the accident scene.
More details about the accident were not released.
An investigation into the accident is ongoing.
