One person injured in collision on I-45 at FM 2989 in Madisonville

Madisonville, TX. – One person was airlifted to the hospital after being injured in a collision involving a semi-truck on Thursday afternoon near Madisonville in Walker County.
According to the police, the accident happened just before noon on I-45 at FM 2989.
An 18-wheeler loaded with steel beams was southbound on I-45 when the driver lost control, went across all southbound lanes and hit the cables in the median before overturning.
The truck driver suffered a head injury and an arm injury and was transported to a hospital.
Another 18-wheeler tried to avoid the traffic and hit the center cables, going through and striking a pickup that was northbound. Another 18-wheeler was also involved in the accident.
The driver of the pickup was airlifted to a hospital.
More details about the accident were not released.
An investigation into the accident is ongoing.
