Carlos Salazar and Michael Charles Elkins killed in two-car accident on Eagle Pass Road in Maverick County

Maverick County, TX. – Carlos Zabdi Salazar, 22, has been identified as the second person who died in a car accident last week in Maverick County.
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the accident happened around 3:30 p.m. on April 10, on Old Eagle Pass Road.
Salazar was driving a Chevrolet Blazer northbound on Old Eagle Pass Road when he collided head-on with another Chevrolet Blazer operated by 62-year-old Michael Charles Elkins.
Elkins was pronounced dead on the scene.
Salazar was transported to the hospital where he died while receiving treatment.
More details about the accident were not released.
An investigation into the accident is ongoing.
