Anais Peralta was taken to a hospital with life-threatening injuries

Jasper County, TX. – One person was killed in a collision on Friday, April 18, in Jasper County.
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the accident happened around 8:15 p.m. on Highway 96 near CR 791.
41-year-old Tonya Beall of Willis was driving a 2023 Hyundai Elantra north on Highway 96 when she crossed into the southbound lanes and collided head-on with a 2024 Kia Sportage.
Beall and an 8-year-old juvenile passenger in the Kia died at the scene.
The driver of the Kia, 29-year-old Anais Peralta of Marshall, was taken to a hospital with life-threatening injuries.
More details about the accident were not released.
An investigation into the accident is ongoing.
