Andres Escamilla and 1 Injured in Orange County Car Accident on Interstate 10
Orange County, Texas (March 19, 2019) – A Corpus Christi man and one other person were hospitalized Sunday afternoon following a traffic crash involving four vehicles in Orange County, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS).
The crash was reported at about 3:15 p.m. Sunday, March 17 on Interstate 10 near Travel Information Center.
The DPS said a 2018 Ford Fusion was heading westbound on Interstate 10 followed by a 2015 GMC Yukon and a 2014 Dodge Durango. Due to traffic congestion, all three vehicles stopped.
The operator of a GMC Denali hauling a travel trailer failed to control his speed and crashed into the rear of the Yukon, which then struck the Dodge. The impact caused the Dodge to rear-end the Ford.
The Yukon driver, identified as Andres Escamilla, 30, of Corpus Christi, and his passenger were taken to a nearby hospital in unknown condition. Both were treated at the hospital and released late Sunday night.
No other injuries were reported.
Gregory Arthur, 53, of Florida, who was the driver of the GMC Denali, was cited for failure to control speed.
The crash remains under investigation.
