Asante Sebastian Contreras Killed in Wrong-Way Crash on I-35 in San Antonio

20-Year-Old Asante Sebastian Contreras Killed in San Antonio Two-Vehicle Crash on Interstate 35 near Loop 410

San Antonio, Texas (May 4, 2020) – A person was killed Sunday night in a wrong-way crash in San Antonio’s Northeast Side, according to a local news source.

The fatal crash occurred around 9:45 p.m. May 3, in the area of Interstate 35 North and Northeast Loop 410.

According to the report, the San Antonio Police Department’s Street Crimes Unit was trying to serve a warrant for a man involved in a shooting. That man then led them on a chase on Highway 151.

The suspect drove down the wrong-way on I-35, and the chase ended when he crashed head-on into a Ford Mustang.

The driver of the Mustang, Asante Sebastian Contreras, 20, was pronounced dead at the scene. 

The suspect’s car caught fire, and he was pulled out by the authorities. He was taken to the hospital and is facing charges of evading arrest and murder.

The authorities are investigating the crash.
