David Highfill ID’d as Man Killed in Bastrop Two-Vehicle Crash on State Highway 71
Bastrop, Texas (March 29, 2019) – The man who was killed on Monday in a two-vehicle crash that left another person injured on a Bastrop highway has been identified as David Highfill, 62, of Austin, according to the police.
The fatal crash occurred on Monday, March 25, on State Highway 71.
Bastrop police said Highfill was driving westbound on the highway when, for unknown reasons, he crossed the median into oncoming traffic and crashed into a Chevrolet pickup truck.
Highfill was declared dead at the scene.
The Chevrolet driver was airlifted to Dell Seton Medical Center in unknown condition.
The crash remains under investigation.
