Demarcus Evans Killed in Houston Crash on Cullen Boulevard

Houston, Texas – The motorcyclist who was killed Saturday night after being hit by a vehicle in Houston has been identified as Demarcus Evans, 42, according to the police.

The fatal crash happened around 9:10 p.m., March 23, in the 7100 block of Cullen Boulevard.

Police said Evans was operating a blue Suzuki motorcycle northbound, weaving in and out of traffic when he lost control and was ejected from the motorcycle.

A gray Dodge Journey was traveling southbound and was waiting to make a left turn into a private driveway when the driver saw the motorcycle pass by in the northbound lanes without its operator. As the Dodge turned left, it struck Evans who was lying in the roadway.

Evans was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Dodge driver, a 35-year-old woman, remained at the scene, was determined not to be impaired, and was questioned and released.

The police are investigating the crash.

Common Causes of Automobile Accidents

There are many different reasons why automobile, pedestrian, 18-wheeler, bicycle, and motorcycle accidents occur, including driver negligence, driver inattention, texting and driving, speeding, fatigue, failure to yield the right of way from a stop sign, or private drive, running a red light, and driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs. While the factors listed above are the main causes of most accidents, there may also be other factors involved, which is why it’s important that an investigation be conducted before evidence disappears, especially in cases involving a fatality.  At Joel A. Gordon & Associates, we will act quickly to secure accident scene photos, interview witnesses, obtain police records, and secure other valuable evidence needed to win your case.  Call now for a free consultation.
