Woman Seriously Injured in Temple Crash on State Highway 317 between Airport Road and Little Mexico Road

Temple, Texas (August 10, 2019) – A woman was seriously injured early Friday morning in a traffic accident in Temple, authorities said.

The crash, which was reported just before 5:30 a.m. Friday, August 9, happened on State Highway 317 between Airport Road and Little Mexico Road.

According to the authorities, a Toyota SUV driven by the woman was trying to make a U-turn when it was hit by an 18-wheeler hauling rock.

Firefighters along with the paramedics responded to the scene and extricated the woman from the wrecked SUV. The victim was then transported to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries. Her name and current condition were not disclosed.

Highway 317 was shut down following the crash. Motorists were asked to use alternate routes.

The crash remains under investigation by Temple police.
