James William Bacak, Irene Bacak and Thomas Bacak Killed in Bryan Two-Vehicle Crash on Old San Antonio Road at West State Highway 21

Bryan, Texas (November 8, 2019) – The person who was critically injured Monday evening in a two-vehicle crash that killed a man and his wife in Bryan has died, according to the police.

The fatal crash occurred just after 6:30 p.m., November 4, in the 8000 block of Old San Antonio Road at West State Highway 21.

Police said 81-year-old James William Bacak of Burton was driving a 2013 Lexus southbound on Old San Antonio Road and had stopped at a stop sign.

An 18-wheeler was heading westbound in the outside lane of West State Highway 21.

The Lexus pulled out from the stop sign and failed to yield right of way to the big rig, resulting in a collision.

James and his wife, 80-year-old Irene Bacak, who was a back seat passenger in the Lexus, were killed in the crash.

Thomas Bacak, 66, who was a front-seat passenger in the Lexus, was taken to CHI St Joseph Hospital in critical condition where he later died.

The big rig driver was uninjured in the crash.

An investigation is underway.
