Javier Nino-Esparza Fatal Car Crash at Springdale Road and E. 7th Street in East Austin

Javier Nino-Esparza ID’d as Man Killed in East Austin Two-Vehicle Crash at Springdale Road and E. 7th Street
Austin, Texas (March 1, 2019) – The man who was killed Wednesday night in a two-vehicle crash which left three other people injured in East Austin has been identified as Javier Emanuel Nino-Esparza, according to the authorities.
The fatal crash happened at around 11:00 p.m. February 27, at the intersection of Springdale Road and E. 7th Street.
As per the report, a Lexus was speeding eastbound on E. 7th Street when it ran a red light at the intersection and hit a Volkswagen that was traveling northbound on Springdale Road.
Nino-Esparza was declared dead at the scene. Three other people were injured in the crash.
The Lexus driver, Duane Deshae Harris, was arrested and charged with intoxication manslaughter, a second-degree felony.
Officers said there was an open beer in the center console of the Lexus. A passenger in the car said that he and Harris had been drinking beer and smoking marijuana, before the crash.
Harris’ bond was set at $40,000.
The crash remains under investigation.
