Katherine S. Long and Joseph M. Wallace Killed in Richardson Two-Vehicle Crash on President George Bush Turnpike

Richardson, Texas (June 28, 2019) – Two people were killed in a wrong-way crash early Thursday morning in Richardson, according to the authorities.

The fatal crash happened around 2:30 a.m. June 27, on the President George Bush Turnpike near PGBT near Midway.

According to a preliminary investigation, Katherine S. Long, 22, of Frisco, was driving a gray Honda Civic when she made a U-turn onto the westbound lanes and began driving the wrong way. Troopers who had been on the right shoulder of eastbound PGBT ran to the dividing concrete barrier and attempted to get Long to stop.

The Civic then crashed head-on into an oncoming black Ford Taurus driven by Joseph M. Wallace, 53, of Rockwall.

Long was pronounced dead at the scene. Wallace was transported to Medical City Plano, where he later died.

The crash remains under investigation.
