Oscar Abelenda and Donna Harrison Killed, George Harrison Critically Injured in Wharton Two-Vehicle Crash on State Highway 60

Wharton, Texas – Two people were killed and another was critically injured early Friday morning in a two-vehicle crash in Wharton, according to the DPS.

The fatal crash happened on March 8, on State Highway 60.

DPS said a 2010 Toyota Tundra collided with a 2023 GMC Yukon on the highway.

The Tundra driver, 29-year-old Oscar Abelenda III of Katy, and the passenger in the Yukon, 71-year-old Donna Harrison of Bay City, were pronounced dead at the scene.

The Yukon driver, 63-year-old George Harrison of Bay City, was critically injured and transported to the hospital. He is the Port Bay City Chairman.

The DPS is investigating the crash.
