Pedestrian Hit, Killed by 18-Wheeler on US 259 in Nacogdoches County

One Killed in Nacogdoches County Pedestrian Accident on US 259

Nacogdoches County, Texas (February 22, 2020) – A pedestrian was fatally hit by an 18-wheeler Friday morning in Nacogdoches County, according to the DPS.

The accident took place at about 11: 00 a.m. February 21, on US 259, north of Nacogdoches.

DPS said the driver of a disabled vehicle that was parked on the shoulder of southbound US 259 stepped into the outside lane of the highway and was struck by an 18-wheeler driven by Luis Moreno, 33, of Laredo.

The pedestrian was killed in the crash. The victim’s identity has not been disclosed.

Moreno was uninjured in the crash.

The DPS is investigating the crash.
