1 Killed in Houston Crash on Loop 610 near Kirby Drive

Houston, TX. - A woman died in a crash involving a stalled big rig on Friday night in Houston.

According to the Houston Police Department, the accident occurred on Loop 610 near Kirby Drive just before midnight.

The woman was driving her car in the westbound lanes of Loop 610 when she slammed into the back of a stalled 18-wheeler. The car was wedged underneath.

The woman was the sole occupant in the car.

Paramedics transported the woman to the hospital, where she succumbed to her injuries. Her name was not disclosed.

The driver of the 18-wheeler was not injured.

More details about the collision were not available.

The Texas Department of Public Safety is investigating the crash.
