Darla Marino Killed in Vidor Crash on U.S. 90 near FM 1909

Vidor, TX. - Darla Marino, 62, was killed in a multi-vehicle crash on Friday night in Vidor, Liberty County.

According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the accident happened on U.S. 90 west of FM 1909.

A 2016 Kia Sorento was traveling westbound and was attempting to pass another vehicle by entering the eastbound lanes and collided head-on with Marino's eastbound 2023 Kia head-on before colliding with the vehicle it had attempted to pass.

Marino, a longtime Pine Forest Elementary teacher was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the Kia Sorento, 27-year-old Stormy King of Houston, was injured and was taken to HCA Houston Healthcare Kingwood in stable condition.

Two children riding in the Sorento were seriously injured and were flown to Texas Children's Hospital Downtown.

The driver of the third vehicle, 33-year-old Danielle Scott, 33, of Louisiana, and her 2-year-old child sustained minor injuries and were taken to Houston Methodist Baytown Hospital.

More details on the accident were not released.

An investigation into the accident is ongoing.
