Dustin Pierson Killed in New Caney Hit-and-Run on Loop 494; Bruce Pepper Arrested
New Caney, TX – A bicyclist was killed Wednesday morning in a hit-and-run accident in New Caney, according to the Texas DPS.
The deadly accident happened around 10:30 a.m. on July 3 on Loop 494.
DPS said 31-year-old Dustin Lee Pierson was riding his bicycle when he was struck by a vehicle that then fled the scene. Pierson was killed in the accident.
The driver of the vehicle, 55-year-old Bruce Pepper, turned himself in to the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office and was facing a charge of collision involving death.
No other details were provided.
The DPS is investigating the accident.
