Eric Gilliam Killed in Amarillo Crash at South Georgia Street and Southwest 15th Avenue
Amarillo, TX. – Eric Gilliam, 41, has been identified as the man who died after a driver ran a red light causing a multi-vehicle crash on Sunday in Amarillo.
The accident occurred in the 1200 block of South Georgia Street at Southwest 15th Avenue at around 1:05 a.m., according to the Amarillo Police Department.
43-year-old Justin Shepherd was driving a passenger car northbound on South Georgia Street when he reportedly ran a red light at the intersection and struck an SUV and a pickup truck that were traveling westbound through the intersection. The car continued northbound and struck another pickup truck before it came to a stop.
Eric Gilliam was a passenger in Shepherd’s car and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Shepherd fled the scene on foot but was later located and arrested. He was booked into the Potter County Jail.
