Ryan Patrick McCormick Killed and Jonathan D. Mirilis Injured in Killeen Motorcycle Crash on U.S. Highway 190/Interstate 14

Killeen, Texas (June 5, 2020) – One person was killed, and another was seriously injured Wednesday night in a motorcycle accident west of Killeen, according to a local news source.

The fatal crash occurred on June 3, on U.S. Highway 190/Interstate 14.

DPS said Ryan Patrick McCormick, 24, of Fort Hood, was riding a 2015 Suzuki GSXR westbound at a high rate of speed while Jonathan D. Mirilis, 29, of Killeen, was riding a 2006 Honda CBR westbound also at a high rate of speed.

McCormick then rear-ended Mirilis’ motorcycle, causing both of them to crash.

McCormick was declared dead at the scene.

Mirilis was taken to Scott & White Medical Center in Temple with incapacitating injuries.

The crash closed the westbound traffic for several hours.

An investigation is underway.
