Woman Seriously Injured, Man Arrested after Houston Two-Vehicle Crash on Southwest Freeway

Houston, Texas (March 26, 2020) – A woman was seriously injured in a suspected DUI crash Wednesday night in Houston, according to the police.

The crash happened around 11:15 p.m., March 25, on the Southwest Freeway at Renwick Drive near the Chimney Rock exit.

Police said a man was driving a Ford truck southbound in the northbound lanes of the freeway when he crashed into an oncoming KIA Soul driven by a woman.

The woman was taken to the hospital with serious injuries.

The man failed a sobriety test and was arrested on suspicion of driving while intoxicated.

The crash closed the freeway for about 45 minutes.

The crash remains under investigation.
