According to the report,  the crash happened just after 1 p.m. near the intersection of State Highway 64 and Farm to Market Road 15.

Smith County, TX – One person is dead and two others are injured following a two-vehicle crash near the Smith County line according to a Texas DPS report.

According to the report,  the crash happened just after 1 p.m. near the intersection of State Highway 64 and Farm to Market Road 15.

Authorities said a black SUV was traveling toward Tyler when a white SUV, traveling toward Turnertown, crossed onto the oncoming lane for an unknown reason and the two vehicles collided.

The driver of the white vehicle sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Two occupants of the black SUV were taken to UT Health Hospital in Tyler for minor to moderate injuries.

No additional details regarding the crash were provided.

The incident remains under investigation.
