Angelica Brocke Blalock Killed, Canyon Ray Davis and Grayling Jones Injured in Wood County Three-Vehicle Crash on SH 37 near FM 69

Wood County, Texas (February 7, 2020) – A woman was killed, and two others were injured in a three-vehicle crash Wednesday evening in Wood County, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety.

The fatal crash occurred around 5:17 p.m. February 5, on State Highway 37 near FM 69, north of Quitman.

According to a preliminary investigation, Angelica Brocke Blalock, 22, of Quitman, was driving a 2012 Honda Civic northbound on the highway when she slowed down to make a left turn onto FM 69. She was then rear-ended by a northbound 2013 Chevrolet Spark driven by Canyon Ray Davis, 19, of Winnsboro.

The force of the impact pushed the Civic into the southbound lane where it was hit by a 2008 Dodge Ram pickup driven by Grayling Jones, 60, of Mineola.

Blalock was taken to UT Health, where she later died.

Davis and Jones sustained non-life threatening injuries in the crash.

The crash remains under investigation.

We pass our condolences to the family and friends of Angelica Brocke Blalock.

Common Cause of Automobile Accidents

While there are many causes of car accidents, the most common reasons of driver negligence include driver inattention; cell phone use; texting and driving; speeding; fatigue; failure to yield the right of way from a stop sign or private drive; running a red light; and driving while under the influence of alcohol or drugs,” Attorney Joel A. Gordon said. Mr. Gordon believes that an independent investigation is important. An Attorney will help obtain the crash report, secure accident photos, interview witnesses, and create a claim.
