Antwon Wallace Killed in Harris County Multi-Vehicle Crash on Interstate 45
Harris County, Texas (December 20, 2019) – A man was killed early Thursday morning in a wrong-way crash Harris County, according to the deputies.
The fatal crash occurred at about 2:00 a.m. in the southbound lanes of Interstate 45 North near Airtex, north of Beltway 8.
Deputies said a silver Chevrolet Impala was heading northbound in the southbound lanes when it sideswiped an Infiniti.
The Impala kept going, and it collided head-on with a southbound white Dodge Charger.
A passenger in the Charger, Antwon Wallace, was declared dead at the scene. The Charger driver, Shandon Bell, who is Wallace’s cousin, was taken to the hospital with a head injury.
The wrong-way driver, 23-year-old Fernando Lopez, was also taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries. He has been charged with intoxication manslaughter.
The Infiniti driver sustained minor injuries in the crash.
The crash remains under investigation.
