Bicyclist Critically Injured in Hit-and-Run Crash on Delaware in Beaumont; Jason Lynn McKnight Arrested

One Critically Injured in Beaumont Bicycle Accident on Delaware; Jason Lynn McKnight Arrested

Beaumont, Texas (March 31, 2020) – A bicyclist was critically injured Sunday morning in a hit-and-run accident in Beaumont, according to a local news source.

The accident was reported just after 9:00 a.m. March 29, in the 5300 block of Delaware.

According to police, witnesses said a vehicle struck a bicyclist and then continued driving without stopping. 

The bicyclist was found unresponsive and was taken to a Houston hospital with critical injuries. 

The suspect vehicle was found near Eastex Freeway. The driver, 52-year-old Jason Lynn McKnight, of Beaumont, was arrested and taken to the Jefferson County Jail, for an accident involving personal injury or death.

An investigation into the crash is underway.
