Daryl Brooks ID’d as Victim Killed in Grimes County Car Accident near FM 244 at SH 90

Grimes County, Texas (July 19, 2019) – The person who was killed Thursday afternoon in a rear-end crash in Grimes County has been identified by authorities as Daryl Brooks, 44, of Mexia.

The tragic accident occurred at about 4:00 p.m. Thursday, July 18 near FM 244 at SH 90 north of Anderson.

The authorities said an 18-wheeler was making a left turn into a private driveway when Brooks rear-ended it.

Brooks sustained critical injuries and was airlifted to a Bryan hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries.

DPS is still investigating the cause of the collision.
