4 Injured in Houston Two-Vehicle Crash on Southwest Freeway near Gessner

Houston, Texas (May 31, 2020) – Four people were injured overnight Sunday in a suspected DUI crash in Houston, police said.

The crash occurred on the Southwest Freeway near Gessner.

Police said two men and two women were traveling in a silver Camaro when it was struck by another vehicle.

The force of the impact caused the Camaro to crash into construction equipment on the side of the road.

A witness told officers the Camaro speed past them, and the car might have possibly been racing another vehicle prior to the crash.

The Camaro driver told police the group came from a bar. Alcohol was also found inside the Camaro.

One of the women in the Camaro lost her arm in the crash. She and the other three people are expected to survive.

Police said alcohol might have been a factor in the crash.

The crash remains under investigation.
