Man Killed and 2 Seriously Injured in Galveston County Two-Vehicle Crash on High Island

Galveston County, Texas (December 27, 2019) – A man was killed, and two other people were seriously injured in a head-on collision Friday morning in Galveston County, according to the deputies.

The crash happened at about 7:35 a.m. on the south side of the High Island Bridge on State Highway 124.

Deputies said a driver was speeding when he crashed head-on into another vehicle.

One of the drivers was taken to the University of Texas Medical Branch emergency room where he was pronounced dead on arrival.

A female passenger in the vehicle was taken to Christus Southeast Texas St. Elizabeth hospital in Beaumont with serious injuries.

The other driver was taken to the medical branch emergency room with serious injuries.

Impairment was a likely factor in the crash.

The crash remains under investigation.
