1 Injured in Amarillo Pedestrian Accident on Amarillo Boulevard East

Amarillo, TX. - A woman was injured after being struck by a suspected drunk driver on Tuesday night in Amarillo.

According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the accident happened in the 400 block of Amarillo Boulevard East at around 10:15 p.m.

A 32-year-old man was driving a black SUV eastbound when he struck a woman who was attempting to cross the road.

The pedestrian was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The driver of the SUV was arrested and booked into the Potter County Jail. He faces a charge of Driving While Intoxicated.

The Amarillo Police Department is investigating the accident.
