1 Killed in Atascocita Crash on West Lake Houston Parkway near FM 1960
Atascocita, TX. - An 18-year-old employee died after a vehicle crashed into a bakery in Atascocita on Tuesday afternoon.
The fatal crash occurred on West Lake Houston Parkway near FM 1960 at around 3:10 p.m., according to the Harris County Sheriff's Office.
A man hit the accelerator instead of the brakes and struck the storefront of Nothing Bundt Cakes while trying to park in front of the business.
The medical personnel pronounced an 18-year-old worker dead at the scene.
One customer sustained minor injuries and was taken to the hospital for medical care.
The male driver and his passenger were not injured.
According to the police, the driver stayed at the scene and cooperated with the investigators. The man showed no signs of impairment.
The Texas Department of Public Safety is investigating the crash.
