1 Killed in Austin Motorcycle Accident on State Highway 130 near Decker Lake Road
Austin, TX. - A motorcyclist died in a collision on Tuesday morning in Austin.
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the accident happened on State Highway 130 near Decker Lake Road at around 5:10 a.m.
A silver Suzuki motorcycle was traveling northbound when its rear tire had a blowout, causing the rider to lose control.
The motorcyclist was ejected and was struck by an SUV. The SUV fled the scene but later returned.
A Tesla operating in autopilot mode also struck the rider.
Paramedics pronounced the unidentified rider dead at the scene.
The SUV driver was charged with failure to stop and render aid.
More information on the crash was not provided.
An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
