Austin, TX. - A man died Tuesday night after being struck by a vehicle in Austin.

The fatal accident occurred in the 4900 block of South Congress Avenue at Sherton Avenue at around 10:22 p.m., according to the Austin Police Department.

A pedestrian was struck by a vehicle in unclear circumstances. The pedestrian was found lying, and the emergency team attempted life-saving measures on him.

Sadly, the man succumbed to his injuries at the scene.

The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene and cooperated with the police.

Further details about the crash were not provided.

The Texas Department of Public Safety is investigating the accident.
