1 Killed in Coryell County Crash on FM 580 near Copperas Cove
Coryell County, TX. – One person died in a two-vehicle collision on Saturday afternoon in Coryell County.
The fatal crash happened on FM 580 near Copperas Cove at around 12:39 p.m., according to the Texas Department of Public Safety.
A man was driving a 2017 Chevrolet pickup westbound on FM 580 when he struck an eastbound 2018 Ford pickup truck towing a hay trailer that was turning left into a private driveway.
According to preliminary investigation, the Ford failed to yield the right of way and entered into the path of the oncoming Chevrolet, resulting in a collision.
Paramedics pronounced the driver of the Chevrolet dead at the scene.
Three passengers in the Chevrolet pickup truck were taken to local hospitals for treatment.
More details on the crash were not released.
The Coryell County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the crash.
