1 Killed in El Paso Pedestrian Accident at the Bridge of the Americas Port of Entry
El Paso, TX. - A 13-year-old boy died after being struck by a vehicle on Sunday in El Paso.
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the accident occurred at the Bridge of the Americas Port of Entry near the border.
A vehicle was traveling along the left side of the traffic lanes when it struck the boy, who was selling soccer jerseys.
The driver was reportedly attempting to evade a traffic officer before the collision.
The 13-year-old boy succumbed to his injuries.
The driver fled the scene but was later located and taken into custody.
More information on the collision was not provided.
An investigation into the accident is ongoing.
