1 Killed in Harris County Pedestrian Accident on Highway 249

Harris County, TX. - A woman died after being struck by a vehicle on Thursday night in Harris County.

The fatal accident occurred in the 13300 block of Highway 249 at around 9:30 p.m., according to the Harris County Sheriff's Office.

The woman was trying to cross the highway when she was struck by a Toyota sedan.

The pedestrian was reportedly not crossing the highway at a marked crosswalk.

Emergency responders attempted to administer life-saving measures to the victim, but the woman succumbed to her injuries at the scene.

The driver of the sedan remained at the scene and cooperated with the police.

Police do not suspect impairment was a factor in the accident.
