1 Killed in Houston Crash on Tidwell Road near Mesa Road
Houston, TX. - A driver was killed in a suspected DUI crash on Sunday night in Houston.
The fatal crash occurred in the 9300 block of Tidwell Road near Mesa Road at around 11 p.m., according to the Texas Department of Public Safety.
The man was driving a Hyundai Sonata sedan eastbound on Tidwell Road when he crossed over the center line and collided head-on with an oncoming GMC pickup truck.
The Hyundai driver was rushed to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
The female driver of the GMC pickup truck was transported to Ben Taub Hospital in stable but critical condition.
Investigators suspect alcohol and speed were factors in the crash.
