1 Killed in Rusk County Car Crash on State Highway 204

Rusk County, TX. - One person was killed in a two-vehicle collision on Friday afternoon in Rusk County.

According to the Rusk County Sheriff's Office, the accident occurred on State Highway 204 at around 3 p.m.

Two pickup trucks were traveling northbound when one tried to pass in a no-passing zone, overcorrected and struck the second pickup truck from behind.

One truck hit the culvert while the other vehicle ended up in a ditch.

One of the three occupants of the first pickup truck was pronounced dead at Nacogdoches Hospital.

The identity of the victim was not immediately disclosed.

Additional information about the collision was not released.

The Texas Department of Public Safety is investigating the accident.
