1 Killed in San Antonio Pedestrian Accident on Dorsey Drive near East Ashley Road

San Antonio, TX. - A 59-year-old woman died after being struck and pinned under a vehicle on Tuesday morning in San Antonio.

According to the San Antonio Police Department, the accident occurred in the 100 block of Dorsey Drive near East Ashley Road at around 11:45 a.m.

The woman was sitting between the fence and a Ford Expedition when the 58-year-old male driver reportedly became distracted and shifted into drive instead of reverse, striking the woman and pinning her underneath the SUV.

Emergency responders extricated the woman and attempted to perform life-saving measures on her, but she succumbed to her injuries at the scene.

More details regarding the accident were not provided.

The Texas Department of Public Safety is investigating the accident.
