2 Injured in Abilene Crash on I-20 near Exit 278

Abilene, TX. - Two people were injured in a collision involving an 18-wheeler on Monday morning in Abilene.

According to the Abilene Police Department, the accident occurred on I-20 near Exit 278 at around 8:36 a.m.

A passenger vehicle was traveling westbound on I-20 when it slammed into the rear of a semi-truck.

The driver of the passenger vehicle was trapped and had to be extricated from the wreck before being airlifted to the hospital with serious injuries.

A passenger in the car was transported to the hospital with serious injuries

More details on the crash were not available.

The Texas Department of Public Safety is investigating the accident.
