Dallas, TX. - A Dallas police officer was injured after being struck by a vehicle on Wednesday afternoon in Dallas.

According to the Dallas Police Department, the accident occurred in the 6200 block of U.S. Highway 67 near Red Bird Lane at around 3:52 p.m.

A Dallas police officer was standing outside a patrol vehicle when they were struck by a passing vehicle.

The officer and the driver of the passing vehicle were transported to the hospital as a precaution.

More details on the collision were not immediately available.
