2 Injured in Jasper County Crash at Highway 96 and Recreational Road 255

Jasper County, TX. – Two people were hospitalized after being injured in collision at an intersection in Jasper County on Sunday morning.

According to the police, the accident happened around 10 a.m. at the intersection of Highway 96 and Recreational Road 255.

A late model Chevrolet Tahoe was headed south on Highway 96 when it crashed into a Ford F-150 pickup truck that pulled from the westbound lanes of RR-255 onto Highway 96.

The impact of the collision caused the pickup truck to spin around before leaving the road and coming to rest in a ditch southwest of the intersection.

The driver of the Chevrolet had to be extricated by the volunteers of the Lake Rayburn Fire Department.

Both drivers were taken to hospital with serious injuries.

More details about the accident were not available.

An investigation into the accident is ongoing.
