3 Injured in Orange Car Crash on State Highway 12 and FM 1136

Orange County, TX. - A deputy and two other people were injured in a collision involving a patrol vehicle on Sunday afternoon in Orange.

The accident occurred at State Highway 12 and FM 1136 at around 5:49 p.m., according to the Texas Department of Public Safety.

A Newton County Sheriff's Office patrol unit was traveling westbound when it hydroplaned into the eastbound lane and collided with a GMC 2500 pickup truck traveling eastbound.

An officer driving the patrol unit was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.

The 42-year-old driver of the GMC was treated at the scene.

The passenger of the GMC was taken to a local hospital with minor injuries.

More details on the collision were not available.

An investigation into the accident is ongoing.
