3 Killed in Terrell Crash on U.S. Highway 80
Kaufman County, TX. – A woman and two children were killed in a fiery car crash on Sunday night near Terrell in Kaufman County.
According to the Kaufman County Sheriff's Office, the accident occurred on U.S. Highway 80 near Windmill Farms Boulevard at around 11:30 p.m.
2013 Hyundai was disabled and had stopped in the right lane when it was rear-ended by a semi-truck.
The impact sent the car off the roadway where it overturned and burst into flames in a dry creek bed.
First responders found a woman, two children unresponsive in the car. The three were pronounced dead at the scene. Their identities were not immediately disclosed.
The driver of the semi-truck was not injured and was able to crawl out of the wreck.
Additional information regarding the collision was not provided.
The Texas Department of Public Safety is investigating the crash.
