5 Killed in San Patricio County Crash at US 77 and State Highway 89
San Patricio County, TX. - Five people were killed in a two-vehicle crash on Saturday morning in San Patricio County.
The fatal collision happened at the intersection of US 77 and State Highway 89 at around 8:30 a.m., according to the San Patricio County Sheriff's Office.
A 2025 Jeep Grand Cherokee was traveling southbound on the US 77 access road when it failed to yield the right of way at a stop sign and collided with a 2011 Toyota Tundra traveling southbound on SH 89.
The driver of the Jeep and three Jeep passengers died at the scene.
A fifth occupant of the Jeep was airlifted to CHRISTUS Spohn Shoreline, where he succumbed to injuries.
The driver of the Toyota and two juvenile passengers were taken to Northwest Emergency Room for treatment.
The Texas Department of Public Safety is investigating the accident.
